Occupy Zionism for Justice and Freedom makes the case for Israel, Jewish self-determination, and Jewish safety in American public life. We publish advocacy, but factual claims still need evidence and political commitments do not excuse careless language.
OZJF is an American organization concerned with the relationship between the United States and Israel. Our work examines how Jewish self-determination is discussed, how terrorist movements are described, and how public institutions respond to antisemitism.
Our mission
OZJF has three goals:
- Defend Jewish self-determination and the state of Israel.
- Improve public understanding of the U.S.-Israel relationship beyond party-line arguments.
- Publish research and advocacy with sources readers can inspect.
The values behind the work
- Plain language. Readers should not have to decode euphemism or institutional jargon.
- Evidence. A factual claim should not be presented as certain when the available sources do not support certainty.
- Civilian dignity. Support for Israel does not erase the lives or rights of Palestinian civilians.
- Jewish self-determination. Israel’s existence is not conditional on agreement with every action of its government.
- Clear boundaries. We distinguish evidence from argument and OZJF’s work from the work of outside groups.
What the values require
These commitments appear in practical choices across the site. Research pages link to source material. Our correction, translation, and research rules are public. Requests to support OZJF are kept separate from humanitarian donations. When a fact is uncertain or a record is incomplete, the page should say so.
